1:Expert Advise on Eyebrow Tinting

It’s no secret that eyebrows are one of the most important features on our face. We all have different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures of brows—which means they can vary greatly, giving a distinct personality to a face. Still, there are things that are universal, like taking care of them. Eyebrow tinting can make a huge difference, but what’s the best way to tint and shape them? Should we have our brows professionally done or try to do this ourselves?

If you’ve recently made a dramatic hair color change or wish to naturally accentuate the eye instead of relying on brow pencils, you may want to look into eyebrow tinting. Even if you’ve only gone a couple shades lighter or darker, you need to make sure your brows are in alignment with your new hair color.

Not sure of what eyebrow tinting is? Trust us, it isn’t something you want to do at home. Leave it to your stylist to ensure they achieve the perfect shade to complement your new hair color. Ideally, your brows won’t match the color perfectly but instead a subtle difference between your brow color and hair color is much more appealing.

When you think eyebrow tinting, think safety as well. Not only do we have more control over the color, but because we’re talking about the area right around your eyes, safety is a big concern as well.

Eyebrow tinting needs regular maintenance just like hair color. Eyebrows fall out naturally at the end of their growth cycle, and the color will fade. You should expect to have them colored about once a month which can be coordinated with your hair root touch-ups to make one easy salon appointment

While we’re talking about tinting, we also over eyelash tinting. It’s an amazing way to cut down on your morning prep time while helping to bring out the natural beauty of your eyes.

2:What Color Should Your Eyebrows Be?

Should you match your brows to your hair color, or do they need to be lighter or darker to stand out?

Just a hint of custom brow tint will thicken up the look of thin or patchy eyebrows. For a more natural look, I recommend a color that mimics the deepest shade found in the hair on your head and carry that color throughout the entire length of the brow. This will give the brows a wash of fullness. For a little more definition, I would take it one to two shades deeper than the base tone of your hair. It’s the perfect way to add a bit more exuberance to any frame.

Over time our brows can shed naturally, and we tend to lose our hair. If you feel like you’ve over-plucked your brows or that they’re thinning out, there are ways to help stimulate growth to the hair follicle to help eyebrows grow back.

3:What’s the Best Tint to Use to Dye Eyebrows?

Some things are best left to the pros… however, if you’re going to DIY your own brow tint, look for products that are specially made for the face and eye area. Before applying the tint, always make sure to protect the skin from staining with a thin layer of Vaseline or night cream. And always remember to wipe away some of the tint to check the color so it doesn’t become too intense.
